What are EMFs?

EMF is short for Electromagnetic Fields. There are 4 major types commonly found in residential homes:

1. AC Magnetic fields (60 Hz), created by the flow of electricity through a wire or other metallic path (water pipe, gas line)
This is the most well known type of EMF, that’s been around for 100+ years since we’ve had electricity.

2. AC Electric fields (60 Hz), created by voltage
This has also been around for 100 years, but is less well known

3. Radiofrequency fields (27 MHz – 10 GHz), high frequencies used for wireless communication
This type of EMF travels through the air and has been increasing exponentially in recent years.

4. Dirty Electricity (180 Hz -100 kHz), high-frequency voltage transients riding along the 60 Hz electricity provided by the utility company
